Chris Myers is trying to distract you from his abysmal tax record.

It's unbelievable, really.

Myers is oblivious to the problems of middle-class Americans: He told a radio audience that “the economy is basically strong” despite the subprime mortgage crisis, skyrocketing gas prices and continuing job losses. He continues to support tax cuts for massive corporations and the super rich.

No wonder George Bush campaigning for Chris Myers.

Myers supports Bush’s tax cuts for big business and the super rich.

New Jersey families are being squeezed by rising gas prices, sky rocketing property tax bills and weakening job security—while two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005. Myers’ solution? More tax breaks for big businesses and the super-rich! (Asbury Park Press, 5/29/08; Philadelphia Inquirer 5/15/08; “Chris Myers Five-Point Economic Growth and Tax Cut Plan,” Chris Myers for Congress, www.chrismyersforcongress.com)

Like Bush, Myers thinks our economy is “basically strong.”

New Jersey’s unemployment rate hit a five-year high of 5.9% last month. But that’s not a problem to Myers and his super-rich friends. Unbelievably, he told a radio audience “the economy is basically strong.” He’s more out-of-touch than Bush! (Asbury Park Press, 4/19/08; Associated Press, 9/17/08)

Myers supports Bush’s subsidies for big oil companies.

With gas prices approaching $4 a gallon, Myers’ solution is to continue Bush’s subsidies totaling more than $18 million for big oil companies, even while they’re pocketing record windfall profits. Between all the tax breaks for companies shipping jobs overseas and the billions more given away to big oil companies, there’s nothing left for us. (Press of Atlantic City, 8/6/08)
